SpillGuard Engineering Ghana Limited expands response staging on the coast
New equipment staged closer to the water to shorten mobilisation for clients across the Western Region.
Our Ghanaian crew has taken delivery of additional booms, skimmers, and transfer pumps pre-staged at the Takoradi facility. Closer-to-water staging means a typical mobilisation now runs from a 60-minute target to under 30 minutes for the closest client sites — without sacrificing the inspection cycles that keep gear deployment-ready.

Ghanaian crew completes refreshed response training cycle
Our Ghanaian response crews completed the latest on-water containment and recovery training cycle.
Every Ghanaian responder on the duty roster completed this season's on-water refresher, including boom deployment in current, skimmer operation under realistic conditions, and incident-command transitions. Maintaining muscle memory between incidents is what turns a plan on paper into a working response.

A practical guide to facility spill prevention
Everyday steps industrial operators can take to keep product out of the water before a release occurs.
The cheapest release is the one that never happens. We walk operators through bund-wall integrity, transfer-procedure discipline, and night-shift handover gaps — three of the most common contributors to the incidents we see. Prevention work pays back in days, not years.

Aligning response plans with Ghanaian and IMO requirements
What operators should check in their contingency plans to stay aligned with current standards.
The Ghana EPA's expectations and the IMO OPRC framework ask different things, but a good plan satisfies both. The most common gaps we close in gap analyses are notification timing, escalation authority, and equipment-availability claims that don't match the audit trail.

Serving marine clients across the Gulf of Guinea
How our base in Takoradi supports offshore and port operations with rapid response capability.
From our Takoradi base we support FPSO operators, ports, depots, and shoreline facilities within the regional coverage radius. Coastal staging — not a central warehouse — is what makes a two-hour mobilisation realistic, and it shapes how we hold our equipment and duty roster.

Equipment maintenance: why readiness starts at the base
Inspection and maintenance schedules that keep response gear deployment-ready.
A boom that splits in the first hour of a real response is worse than no boom at all. Our inspection cadence runs weekly visual, monthly functional, and annual third-party where applicable — with full records kept against every serial number. Readiness is a discipline, not a moment.
